Anemone virginiana is a woodland native perennial with lobed compound green foliage that gets a slight red tint in fall. The white flowers with elongated center mound bloom on tall wiry stems in late spring and are followed by thimble-like seedheads. Grows best in sandy-humusy well-drained soil. Tolerates deep shade.
