Pilgrim Cranberry is a native evergreen shrub with low-spreading habit that can be treated as a groundcover. Its small deep green foliage densely packs its red stems and turns an attractive bronze in winter. Tiny pink flowers bloom in late spring and are followed by large dark red cranberries with a tasty tartness ready for harvest in mid fall. Grows best with full sun and moist, well-drained acidic soils, but can tolerate wet and boggy conditions.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance. Susceptible to a number of pests and diseases, including red leaf spot, fruit end rot, root rot, cranberry blossomworm, cranberry tipworm, cranberry weevil, and cranberry fruitworm. Can be subject to chlorosis problems if soil pH is too high.
